Toshiba TCKE8xx & TCKE712BNL eFuse ICs
Toshiba TCKE8xx and TCKE712BNL eFuse ICs integrate a comprehensive range of high-speed, resettable, and low-on-resistance (RON) circuit protection functions in a single compact 3x3mm WSON10B package. The eFuse ICs provide short-circuit, adjustable overcurrent protection, and an adjustable inrush current slew rate. The TCKE8xx also features a thermal shutdown capability, a fixed overvoltage clamp, and in conjunction with an external MOSFET (TCKE8xx) and built-in FET (TCKE712BNL), reverse current blocking. These features make the Toshiba TCKE8xx ideal for a wide range of industrial applications, home appliances, office automation equipment, and battery-powered IoT sensor devices. Incorporating an eFuse into designs ensures products meet the requirements stipulated by international safety standards, such as IEC/UL62368-1 and UL2367.
The use of external resistors can adjust the overcurrent and under input voltage of the TCKE8xx and TCKE712BNL series. The under-voltage setting is achieved using a two-resistor ladder, with a maximum supply input voltage of 18VDC (TCKE8xx) and 13.2VDC (TCKE712BNL). The overcurrent clamp is set using a single resistor. Please refer to the datasheet for more information regarding the short-circuit features and current clamp accuracy. TCKE8xx and TCKE712BNL have fast short circuit protection of 150ns and 320ns, respectively.
The Toshiba TCKE805 is designed for 5V power rail applications and has a fixed output overvoltage clamp setting of 6.04V. The TCKE812 suits 12V designs and clamps at 15.1V. The TCKE800 has no overvoltage clamp function.
The Toshiba TCKE712BNL is a latch-type only eFuse that performs reverse current blocking using a built-in FET and has an overcurrent protection by external resistance (OCP) of 0.51A to 3.65A +20%. The current limit setting range varies based on Vin operation. It has a FLAG function on output (ON when EN is “High”).
The eFuse ICs enable short-circuit and adjustable overcurrent protection and an adjustable inrush current slew rate. The eFuse ICs are suitable for a wide range of industrial applications, home appliances, office automation equipment, and battery-powered IoT sensor devices.
